Still in step

Another week is over and despite missing a day of walking, I am happy to say that I am still in step!  I was really tired Thursday evening so I decided not to do a walk.  But then I couldn't sleep so a little before 5 A.M. Friday morning, I did Leslie Sansone's fast paced 2 mile Walk Away The Pounds Walk and Jog.  Although the Walk is one of her older ones, it's new to me.  I received it as a gift from a friend who found it at the bookstore where she works.  That walk was the fasted of all the Leslie Sansone walks that I've done.  Keeping up with the pace was definitely a challenge, especially wearing two 2 pound weight belts.  I also wore the 1 pound hand weights..  But I got through the walk, including the jogging, and felt good that I did.  After the walk, I did my strength training: 20 repetitions of each exercise on my band resistance bench.  Fridays have been the day I do the 4 mile Punch Up Your Walk DVD.  Although I had already done the 2 mile walk, I still wanted to do that 4 mile walk.  I did and my  total miles walked for the day was 6!  Saturday evening I did the 3 mile Start! Walking At Home DVD.  Once again, after the walk, I did my strength training: 20 repetitions of each exercise on my band resistance bench to get in my two days of strength training. Still in step and promise kept!

Back in step

After working Saturday, May 2nd, (Saturdays are one of my usual days off) I was off Sunday May 3rd  As fate, luck, God, the universe, whatever anyone wants to call it, The Music In Me featuring Debbie Gibson and her inspirational song: Promises was on once again  As I had written in a short blog post early Saturday morning, I had not done anyone walks on my days off Thursday, April 30th, and Friday, May 1st.  The movie started at 5 P.M. and ended at 7 P.M. and yes, I absolutely felt motivated to do one of Leslie Sansone's Walk DVDs.  I did one of the 2 mile walks.  I wore the weight belts and hand weights as I always do when I do one of the walk DVDs regardless of how many miles..

I worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  On Thursday, I did another one of Leslie's 2 mile walks.  I also did 20 repetitions of each exercise on my band resistance bench.  Back to 4 mile Friday with Leslie Sansone's Punch Up Your Walk.  Tonight (Saturday) I did the 5K With A Twist.  I followed that with 20 repetitions of each exercise on my band resistance bench.

Feels good to be keeping my promise again!  Feels great to be walking with Leslie.

Thanks once again Debbie Gibson for Promises!

No steps...

Just a quick post today. I did not do any of the Walk DVDs on my two days off.  I felt really tired both days.  Did not do any strength training either.  I did ride my bike to work both Sunday and Monday, approximately 1.67  miles each way.  I use the word "approximately" because when I use one of the downloadable mileage apps, I often get different totals for mileage even though I travel the same path and the same distance each time.  I usually have Saturdays off, but am working tonight.  I have Sunday off.  My tendency would be to beat myself up about not working out and breaking my promise because those are my patterns.  Instead, I'm going to move forward with the new week and accept that my body really needed rest.
